Where Terrible Lizards is available: Steam PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass, plus the Switch 2 status and last-gen support.
Terrible Lizards Platforms
Terrible Lizards released on October 29, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It is also available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. There is no PlayStation 4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch version, and the Switch 2 version is not announced.
This page covers every confirmed platform, the differences that matter and the status of the versions people keep asking about.

The confirmed platforms
| Platform | Store | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| PC | Steam | Full controller support, achievements, family sharing |
| PlayStation 5 | PlayStation Store | PS5 only; 16 trophies including platinum |
| Xbox Series X | S | Microsoft Store |
| Xbox Game Pass | Microsoft Store | Day-one inclusion, not a separate version |
The game is a current-gen release. The Steam page lists Windows only; there is no macOS or Linux build. The console versions are native PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, not backward-compatible last-gen ports.
PC
The Steam version is the most flexible. It supports full controller input, has the 15-achievement list and includes family sharing. The store page does not list Steam Deck compatibility as verified, so treat handheld performance as unconfirmed until Valve's rating appears.
The PC version is also the one with the most visible performance discussion. Reviews mention hitches in chase sequences and the occasional broken trigger. The game has been patched since launch; Patch 1.0.9 fixed a title-screen softlock and a Stella call lock, which suggests the team is addressing the worst cases.
If you are buying on PC, the price page covers the current discount and the Steam refund window. The how long to beat page gives you a sense of whether the length justifies the price for you.
PlayStation 5
The PS5 version is available on the PlayStation Store. It has the same content as the other versions, with a trophy list that adds a platinum to the 15 achievements. The PS5 version does not have a PS4 counterpart, and Sony's store page lists it as a PS5 title only.
The DualSense features are not documented in the store listing. The game supports controller play on PC, so the basic input scheme is the same; any haptics or adaptive-trigger use is a PS5-specific detail that the marketing has not emphasized.
Xbox Series X|S
The Xbox version is available on the Microsoft Store and is included with Game Pass at launch. That makes it the cheapest way to play if you already subscribe. The Xbox version has the same 1,000 Gamerscore achievement list.
The Xbox version is also the one with the most reported performance issues. Players have described frame drops and stalled chase triggers, particularly in the final chapter. The game has been patched, but if you are sensitive to performance, the PC version is the safer choice.
The Game Pass build is the Xbox Series X|S build. You are not missing content by playing through the subscription.
Switch 2
There is no Switch 2 version. The developers have said they are hopeful about the platform, but nothing has been announced. Treat any "Switch 2 release date" video or article as speculation unless it comes from WDR Studios, Digital Pajamas or Behaviour Interactive.
The game's Unreal Engine presentation and its reliance on dense foliage and particle effects make a Switch port a non-trivial project. That does not rule it out, but it explains why the team has not committed.
Last-gen and other platforms
There is no PS4 version, no Xbox One version and no mobile version. The game is not on Epic Games Store, GOG or Amazon Luna at launch. It is a Steam, PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store release.
The Steam page's genre tags include "Free To Play," which is a store metadata error: the game is paid on every platform. The price page documents the actual pricing.
Cross-play and saves
Terrible Lizards is single-player only. There is no multiplayer, no co-op and no cross-play. Cross-save is not advertised, so assume your progress stays on the platform you bought it on.
The multiplayer page covers the single-player design and why the game does not have co-op.
Which version should you buy?
If you have a capable PC and want the most stable performance, buy on Steam. If you have Game Pass, play it there first; the subscription cost is lower than the purchase price, and the game is short enough to finish in a month. If you want the platinum, buy on PS5.
The content is identical across platforms. The differences are performance, achievements and price, not story or modes.
A demo is available on Steam and Xbox. It covers the opening section and carries a separate save. The demo page explains what carries over and how long it is.
